Retired Justice Clara Ogunbiyi has officially assumed office as Acting Chairperson of the Police Service Commission, after the resignation of former Inspector General of Police Musiliu Smith.
Although there were issues within the PSC leadership over a recent recruitment exercise, the former Chairman resigned on health grounds.
Justice Ogunbiyi was until her nomination the next in hierarchy to the former Chairman.
She expressed her appreciation to president Muhammadu Buhari and her colleagues for the confidence reposed on her and pledged to run an inclusive administration based on the rule of law.
