Buckingham Palace has announced the death of UK’s longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.
The Monarch who ruled Britain for 70 years passed away at Balmoral Thursday,
She was aged 96 years.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,”the statement added.
Her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, will lead the country in mourning as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms following her death.
Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was born on April 21, 1926, in Mayfair, London and her reign lasted 15 years from Winston Churchill in 1874 to Liz Truss, born 101 years later in 1975 and appointed by the Queen earlier this week.
