President Muhammadu Buhari is presiding over the weekly federal executive council meeting in the presidential villa.
The council which is the highest decision making making body of the executive arm of government will deliberate on issues of urgent national importance.
In attendance are Vice President yemi Osinbajo, Chief of staff to the president, secretary to the government of the federation and other cabinet ministers.
This weeks meeting is expected to deliberate on the 2023 budget that will be submitted to the national assembly this month.
Also it is expected that the federal executive council will talk about matters arising in the impasse between the federal government and striking university lecturers.
The federal government had set up a committee to review it’s no work, no pay policy against ASUU after a meeting between the minister of education, pro chancellors of universities, chairmen of council as well as vice chancellors of universities.
