The Project, a pilot program with a target audience of 15,000 youths nationwide, was launched at the office of the Deputy Governor of Ogun State in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The project which is a Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET) Programme, has been approved by the National Steering Committee on National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy, as one of the core interventions to achieve the Federal Government’s goal of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty by 2030.

Speaking at the unveiling of Project T-Max in Ogun State, the Senior Special Assistant to President on Education Interventions said the government is set to build self employed and self reliant youths and maximize the use of existing TVET centrers.

While commending the federal Government for the project, the Ogun State Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Noimot-Salako Oyedele commended the initiative and promised the support of the state Government.

The team later proceeded to the Industrial Training Fund centre in Abeokuta where they held a meeting with heads of technical and vocational education and training centres in the state ahead of the commencement of the programme.

Youths in the state are expected to register on the project website, www.tmax.ng, beginning today, September 1st, registration will close after two weeks.

The training is expected to take place across the country for three months.
